CHALLENGE

• A business unit was retiring an out-of-date legacy technology and needed API access to Snowflake data immediately without connecting directly or creating a shared database for different business units

• Data Accessibility via API with limited connectivity options

OUTCOME

• Built a secure and scalable API on top of Snowflake leveraging Python and existing Azure resources so the BU could access data without connecting to Snowflake 

• Successfully validated API design, architecture, and approach in a way that could be applied to other business units in the future

• Fully tested and productionized API delivered in less than one month

• Discover - Worked with key stakeholders, business users, and technical owners to align business outcomes and discover existing Azure resources that could be leveraged

• Design - Designed and architected an API in partnership with the BU team
